The Nomination Form for the Lewis Award for Excellence in Teaching is available now (click here)!

There is only 1 month to submit your nomination for this year.  Nominations close on  September 30^th.

The Lewis Award has granted a Life Time Achievement to Principal and Teacher, Lynn MaGoon of St. Mary School in Goldsboro.

Mrs. MaGoon is the 10^th recipient of this honor.

Mrs. MCGoon has a distinguished 33 year commitment to St. Mary School and Parish.

For more than 20 years, the Lewis Award has been recognizing outstanding teachers in the Diocese of Raleigh.  This year, all three finalists were celebrated at their individual schools with a Mass and a whole school gathering. Here are some pictures of the celebrations.

Kimberly Wheeler, the 5th grade teacher at Cathedral School is this year’s winner of the Lewis Award for Excellence in Teaching.

The entire school will celebrate with her in April.

Congratulations to Mrs. Wheeler and Cathedral School.

The three accomplished teachers chosen as finalists for this year have now been observed by the Lewis Committee.  They are:  Renee Mary Eltz from St. Mary School in Goldsboro, Barbara Dobner from the Franciscan School, and Kimberly Ann Wheeler at Cathedral School.

This year’s winner will be announced next month.
