Lewis Award Announcement 2021-2022

The Lewis Award Committee is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2021-2022 Msgr. Lewis award is Kelley Champion of Blessed Sacrament School in Burlington, NC.

Mrs. Champion is a middle school language arts teacher with more than 25 years of experience. Congratulations to Mrs. Champion and all of the Blessed Sacrament Knights!

Blessed Sacrament School was founded in 1935 and serves students from pre-school through 8th grade. Blessed Sacrament is certified by COGNIA as a STEAM school
where students learn through problem-solving experiences and science, technology, engineering and math are integrated throughout the curriculum.

Award Finalists Announced

The Lewis Award for Excellence in Teaching is pleased to announce the finalists for the 21/22 school year. These three finalists were chosen from 19 candidates nominated by schools across the Diocese of Raleigh. The winner for this year will be announced in March.

We are all hopeful that 2022 will be a bit more normal so the Lewis committee is planning on doing classroom observations this year.  Of course, none were done last year.

Later this month the 3 finalists will be announced for the

Teacher of the Year Award.

These 3 will be chosen from the 19 applications received.
